ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION

 MEDIATION SKILLS

Thursday, October 25 Saturday, October 27, 2012 (3 days, 20 hours)
9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day

Through a combined Course and Workshop format consisting principally of interactive simulation exercises, short lectures and video presentations, participants will:-

  • Learn Mediation concepts and techniques, with experienced coaches for Mediation Skills training
  • On Day One, choice from the following Conflict Resolution Special Sessions (see also below)::
    • “Introduction to Group Facilitation” (Full Day)
    • “An Introduction to the mediation Process” (1/2 Day, a.m.)
    • “’Restorative Justice’: Concepts and Applications” (1/d day, p.m.)
    • "Dealing with Conflict in the Workplace” (1/2 Day, p.m.)

The Companion Course in the Program, on “Conflict Resolution and Negotiation Skills”, will be Friday, April 27 to Sunday, April 29, 2012 (3 days, 20 hours) 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day . Registrations can be accepted also for the Sunday, October 27 Pprogram alone (Conflict Resolution Special Sessions)

The Centre’s 40-hour Certificate on Alternative Dispute and Conflict Resolution will be awarded upon completion of two 20-hour modules or the equivalent. Separate registrations can be accepted for some parts of Courses, as above. Registration combining individual days, other offerings presented or work completed independently, can be considered for the Certificate.

Registration Fee :- $ 725.00 + HST
Registration Fee includes full noon meal, and morning and afternoon refreshments, each day, and also Fees for Mediation Coaches. Maximum
Enrolment for each full Course – 30 participants.

There is a 20% Fee reduction for Groups of four or more. A limited number of places reserved for Students at a reduced rate of $ 475.00 plus HST.

Who is This Program For?

The Program is for persons interested in acquiring the knowledge, theoretical background and practical
skills developed in the context of Negotiation and Mediation, for use in the expanding fields of dispute
and conflict resolution. It addresses the roles of managers and officers in both public and private sectors, lawyers, human resources professionals, grievance officers, educators and others engaged in activities in which outcomes can be enhanced by the effective use of these skills.
